Practical tips for UI/UX designers to bridge the gap between visual appeal and development feasibility.
Ever seen a UI design , with floating bubbles 💭 and flying rockets 🚀 and ships 🛳️ as the prototype design? I think at one point of time , you guys must have encountered a design like that!
See , but here lies the catch , we designers , when we are at our rookie level , we create designs which are visually appealing and attracting. But at the same point of time , we don’t understand that by creating such a design with so much going on , we make it really difficult for the developer to code it up!
Let’s take an example 🤔:
I hope all of you like biryani , especially Hyderabadi Biryani. When it is served to you , it looks visually appealing and smells like heaven . But no one really takes into consideration the complex procedure and the time taken to make that single plate of Biryani.
Same phenomenon applies on UI/UX & Development , every rookie designer or any ‘level’ designer , should take into consideration that whatever you put up on that Figma screen , will be written down as code at one point of time.
So , put yourself in the shoes of the developer and understand , how to make a design which is both visually interesting and developer-friendly. 🤝
I do have a few tips for the students or professionals who are just beginning or are already in the field of designing:
1. Research on what the design is about. ✅
2. Always think as a user first , then as a designer. ✅
3. Keep a healthy communication with the developer. ✅
I guess , that’s it from my side.
I would love if my fellow designers , would add a few more points to it , so that we as a community can help people who are going to begin this amazing beautiful journey.ry.
